THE ANARCHISTS

A highly stylized Korean film about a group of anarchists in Shanghai in 1924. Follows the now-conventional trappings of Hong Kong action, with slow motion running and diving with guns blazing. The music is fantastic and adds mood. Our narrator for the film is a youngster who is learning the ropes from his older comrades. He is bumbling, but honorable. There were dozens of characters but most of them were fleshed out pretty well. There were elaborate nightclub floor shows filmed in breathtaking color. This one has a chance in general release.
