A Belgian woman is away at college in Montreal. Her parents expect her to become a doctor and find a husband. She instead finds photography and a woman to love. Her inability to tell her mother the truth causes her lover to leave, which in turn makes the woman flee back to her hometown. Her mother will not listen to her attempts to tell the truth. The family has no interaction whatsoever. Some good ideas (a dwarf who insists she’s adopted, a grandma’s former love) are hidden within a one-joke story about a mother not listening.
