THE MISANTHROPE
2002

Story of struggling New York City actor, who is presently teaching in an elementary school. He auditions for the play THE MISANTHROPE, but is denied a part. He is talked into directing the school play and he picks THE MISANTHROPE for his young students to perform. This very adult play is way above their understanding, but he won't be deterred.

The film is funny and brutal with occasional flashes of naturalness, such as a walk through a dreary Manhattan after a few drinks with a lady. It seemed almost made up on the spot.

Overall though, not the greatest.
