MONSOON WEDDING

Absolutely delightful story of a wedding in Delhi and how a family gets along when they all come together. There were musical interludes and a great mixture of Hindi and English. It took me a while to realize that the characters were speaking English when the subtitles stopped. There were concerned fathers, nurturing mothers, scandalous uncles, and hot young people all dressed up for the big show. A cute subplot involving less well-to-do Indians was very touching. Better than I expected. When the cast would sing, it didn't really take away from the story. Not a musical, exactly, just a happy experience. Impossible not to like.
