Ethan Hawke. Sam Shepard. Max Von Sydow. Painfully slow story of a dead fisherman on a Puget Sound island and the Japanese-American man who is accused of the crime. Hawke had a fling with a Japanese girl when he was younger and now she is married to the accused. There are flashbacks to WWII and childhood memories kissing in a cedar tree. But Hawke is sleepwalking through his role and I'm just trying not to fall asleep. Nice to look at but you'll be happy when its over.
