NURSE BETTY
2000 March 29, 2002 Showtime Germany/USA English/Spanish She's chasing a dream...they're chasing her. Enjoyable story of soap opera-obsessed Betty, played by Zellweger, who witnesses a tragedy and enters a mental state where she believes she is the soul mate of the lead character on said soap opera. She travels from Kansas to Los Angeles to find the character. A pair of hitmen follow her across the country. Zellweger is some kind of actress and she seems to inhabit this role. She is completely believable as the wacko who thinks soap opera life is real life. Morgan Freeman brings surprising class and vulnerability to his role as a cold-blooded killer. The story itself was kind of light, and Kinnear has fun with his golden-boy image. Fun to watch, but nothing particularly special. Rare speaking part for Asian goddess (and MichaelVox dream girl) Sung Hi Lee. 7.7 Critical Consensus 0 Comments: |
