The music was great and I love the song "Starbucks" so much, in fact, that I bought the Harriet Schock CD that it's on. I thought Tanna Frederick was great - in that over-the-top, larger-than-life way that you don't often see in characters. Yes, her character Irene was really annoying in some parts. She was neurotic and crazy and she reminded me of a couple of women I knew years ago who were equally, if not more wacky. But let's think about this, who doesn't have "issues" of some sort with one or both parents? Unfortunately, most, but not all, of the women in the film had crappy relationships with their fathers. Has there been a movie about men's issues with there mothers? It seems to be okay to be a "daddy's girl" and I've heard women say it proudly. But I've heard nothing but derisive comments about "mamma's boys." I acutally have a frined who is clearly one of those and he's a really cool guy. So is his mom. If I were to date him (god, please) I wouldn't have a problem with that. His mom is great. Now that I think about it, I know several men who would be categorized as mamma's boys and they seem perfectly fin. Maybe I'm deluded, I don't know. I enjoyed Irene In Time up to the ambiguous ending. I choose to believe it's more positive than some people and I was really dissapointed that Jacob turned out to be a jerk. Other than that, I laughed at the horrendous dates. I'm glad my dates haven't been like Irene's. I'm looking forward to Tanna Frederick's next film. I actually enjoyed Irene In Time.
